Our History...

Cedar Landing has been owned by the Douglas Botkin family since 1980.

Originally called the "Big Cedar Cafe" on the bank of the San Jacinto River, this location and its previous colorful owners provided the only source of entertainment in the area for many years. In the 1950's the dam was built and Lake Houston development began.

During those years you could not only buy a really good hamburger and fried catfish, but you could also launch or rent a boat, purchase bait, tackle, beer, live catfish, or cool off in the lounge.

Today the Botkins have survived three tornadoes, two major hurricanes and the infamous 1994 Flood with 3 feet of lake in the dining room.

Currently you can enjoy some of the best seafood in Texas and relax in a friendly, family atmosphere. The old lounge is all but forgotten, and has been replaced with a modern full service bar.

Testimonials

The view over the lake on a beautiful early evening made our visit particularly enjoyable. Nothing could have been done to improve it.
